Lord of the Rings, Work & Back Pain

I hurt my back this week at work and have had the worst time trying to recover. It hurts to sit for too long, hurts to stand, hurts to move, etc. What do you do? Luckily a heating pad and Tylenol PM seems to help. It seems to be slowing easing, but I am being very careful about bending, picking up things and the like. I haven't done much stitching since I hurt my back. I guess the way I hold my frame and reach forward with both arms or whatever makes it hurt more.

As for work itself...it's going OK. I wouldn't say I like it anymore than before, but I wouldn't say I hate it. It's a job. It pays. As for good parts...it is very close to my son's school, nice building, secure location, don't have to deal with co-workers and can stitch or read when I am not busy. The boss drives me crazy, but, fortunately, I don't have to deal with her too much. I'm mostly bored out of my mind. I guess I will stay unless she gets too horrible to deal with or she starts cutting my hours, or not working with my schedule, etc. I have done a decent amount of stitching on my train project (before I hurt my back), but still slower than I would like. I have been taking a couple of projects to work on, so that if I get bored with one I can work on the other.

I have been watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy lately. I am now on the commentary. I generally do this once a year. Very good movies. The violence can be a bit much at times, but if I am stitching I just look down during those parts or fast forward. I found this quiz on the net: Which LOTR character are you?

You're Samwise Gamgee! Samwise the brave is the most loyal friend that you could ever ask for. He'll be there for you through thick and thin, and be willing to do anything for you. "There is some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for."

It was a tie between Sam, Gandalf and Eowyn. They ask you a final question if you have a tie. I finally scored Sam after the tie-breaking question.

Hopefully my back will be better before too long and I can get more stitching done.

Sorry, you have hurt your back-I hope you get to feeing better soon. I tried your chicken and dressing recipe-it was good and so simple to make. I look forward to seeing more of any recipes you care to share. I know Tina has tried the cake-I haven't got to that yet-but it is definetly on the list. Take care of yourself.

I'm sorry to hear about your back - I hope it doesn't take too long to get back to normal.

I love the LOTR movies and haven't watched them for a long time. I must get them out and watch them again :)
