Believe, scrapbooking event and a recipe

Has anyone seen the new word tree by M Designs? It's Believe. I really, really like this one. The colors are wonderful and I think this is great for Christmas. Will have to get this one soon. Anyhow...here is a picture.

I went to a scrapbooking 3 day event this past weekend (Thursday - Saturday). I must admit that I am not really a scrapbooker, so I spent my time there making cards. I also took a couple of classes. One on how to make a book out of lunch sacks and the other on decorating a paint can with scrapbooking supplies. It was a really fun event hosted by a couple friends of mine who own Scrappy Sisters. They host scrapbooking retreats/events. Here is a link if anyone is interested in scrapbooking stuff: http://scrappysistersproductions.com/ I know they are definitely having another event in May 2007.

I went to see "The Prestige" yesterday with my husband. While I love Hugh Jackman and I thought the acting was great I really did not like the movie itself. It was very dark and more violent than expected. So...anyone that wants to see a magic movie should really see "The Illusionist" instead.

I enjoy cooking. Let me clarify that by saying that I like good, simple cooking. No gourmet stuff. I'm not Marth Stewart and don't like spending hours in the kitchen. There will not be any 4 course meals at my house. I especially like a good crockpot recipe for those really busy days. I thought I would share this family favorite with you guys.

Crockpot Chicken and Stuffing

4 chicken breasts
1 can (14 oz) chicken broth
1 can cream of mushroom soup (can use cream of celery or chicken)
1 box stuffing mix, Chicken flavor (like Stove Top, but can use store brand as well)

Place chicken breasts in bottom of crockpot. Sprinkle lightly with seasoning. (I like to use Mrs. Dash. You don't want any salt since the chicken broth and the stuffing mix already has salt.) If you must layer chicken, make sure to sprinkle each layer with the seasoning. In seperate bowl, combine dry stuffing mix with cream of mushroom soup and 1/2 of the chicken broth. Stir until well blended and smooth over chicken breasts. Pour remaining broth over mixture. Cook on low for approx. 5 hours or more. (This recipe can be easily doubled.)

Great served with green beans on the side. Quick and simple.

I will share other favorites over time. Hope to have more stitching news soon. Not much stitching done in the last week.

The believe tree is very pretty-I was tempted. It would be great for Christmas. Thanks for the recipe-I may try that this coming weekend-I am at my wits end for something different that the kids will eat.

Hi Rae! Your comment on my blog attracted me here, and I'm delighted with what I see and read! I am also very tempted with stitching this tree (as well as those on the other JCS, I think they're beautiful and cleverly designed), but I'm still waiting for my copy of JCS 2006 (ordered 26th september!).
Your son must be ober the moon with his finished ornies! You make me realize that I have never stitched an ornie for any of my kids, so I have decided to repair this right away; Thanks for sharing! Will be back...

Hi Rae :) Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your comment. I hope you enjoy the recipe :)

I will have to give yours a try - I love my crockpot but it doesn't get a lot of use unfortunately.

The M Designs trees are lovely. I have stitched the "Love" one - still need to add the beads and work out how I'm going to finish it though. Guess I should probably do that soon since Christmas is just around the corner!!!

Love crockpot recipes! That one sounds really good. The M Design trees are pretty... Not something I'd stitch, but I still like them. :D
